That's funny, I read the title and came in to offer the exact same piece, though with the "I vow to thee..." lyrics

Re: Tyler Cowen on hatred of Media

ummm. When a post begins with "Ermmmm..." or "Ummm...", that's always a warning sign that what will follow is going to be slightly supercilious and condescending. And sure enough, your contribution is largely exactly that - or at least, that part of it I can understand. I think this "semite" vs "ar...

Re: Tyler Cowen on hatred of Media

It's more to do with the fact that MSM outlets have been caught routinely lying, are propaganda arms of political parties and in some cases the state itself, and have been exposed primarily through alt media sources when doing so, that has burnt their credibility. People do not like being lied to, ...

An English National Anthem?

For me, the song that comes nearest to being an English national anthem is 'Thaxted', the middle tune of Gustav Holst's Jupiter movement in the 'Planets' suite. I love English folk music, especially Holst, Vaughan Williams and Edward Elgar, among others, as well as more contemporary performers like ...

Re: Upskirting

Further to my post above, I've now found several links which should be of help: Progress of the Bill: https://services.parliament.uk/bills/2017-19/voyeurismoffences.html The Bill itself: https://publications.parliament.uk/pa/bills/cbill/2017-2019/0174/18174.pdf It's quite a short Bill that amends se...

Re: Upskirting

Are you saying that there shouldn't be a very specific law regarding this as it's too specific, unnecessary and context dependent? If so that's probably the case, or I naturally tend to think those ways when I hear about the introducing of new laws. This. This could easily be targeted under harassm...

Re: Hey, Let's Discuss Jews!

I promised to go through Dr Gabb's statement with a critical eye, and now is as good a time as any. This is not meant to imply that I think the Mises Centre UK's policy on comments to their blog is wrong for them. That's their affair. They are entitled to allow whatever comments they like and take w...

Are you (all of you) saying that the best resolve would be for the woman to raise a sexual harassment case in civil courts and hope that the judge sets a precedent?
Existing criminal laws already cover it.

Re: Real Metapolitics Versus Fake Metapolitics

The below video clips shows what I consider to be an example of an authentic metapolitical discussion. We're used to issues like housing being discussed in a 'neutralised' manner, by which I mean that debate, or what passes for it, tends to revolve around relatively inoffensive interests: in the cas...
